Distribution of households by size (number of members)_16 countries
Southeast and South Asia, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, India and Myanmar, have fewer one-person households than other regions, with 4-5 members having the largest proportion. Many households have six or more members.
Western countries such as the United States, United Kingdom and Germany, and East Asia such as Japan and Korea have more one-person households than other regions. In addition, 2-3 member households have the largest proportion and households with more than that are less common than in other regions.
