Mean age of first marriage by sex

*For men, the age of first marriage is higher in Western countries than in others, with Germany (34.0 years) being the highest, followed by the United Kingdom (33.9 years).In Asia, South Korea has the highest age at 33.2 years.On the other hand, India has the lowest age at first marriage for men (26.1 years), followed by the UAE (26.8 years), Vietnam (26.9 years), China (27.1 years), Indonesia (27.1 years), and the Philippines (27.1 years).
*For women, the age of first marriage is also higher in Western countries than in other countries, with the highest age of first marriage in the United Kingdom (32.1 years), followed by Germany (31.2 years).In Asia, the age of first marriage in Taiwan and Hong Kong is the highest at 31, followed by South Korea (30.8) and Singapore (29.5).On the other hand, India has the lowest age at first marriage for women (21.3 years), followed by Thailand (22.5 years), Indonesia (22.5 years), and Vietnam (22.8 years).

男性においては、欧米各国の初婚年齢がほかより高く、中でも最も高いのドイツ（34.0歳）で、イギリス（33.2歳）が続く。アジアでは、台湾が33歳で最も高い。一方で、男性の初婚年齢が最も低いのはインド（26.1歳）、次いでUAE（26.8歳）、中国（27.1歳）、フィリピン（27.1歳）、インドネシア（27.1歳）と続く。 女性においても、欧米各国の初婚年齢がほかより高く、ドイツとイギリスが31.2歳で最も高い。アジアでは韓国の初婚年齢が30.2歳で最も高く、台湾（30.0歳）、香港（29.7歳）と続く。一方で、女性の初婚年齢が最も低いのはインド（21.3歳）、次いで、インドネシア（21.8歳）、タイ（22.5歳）、ベトナム（22.8歳）と続く。
