男性においては、欧米各国の初婚年齢がほかより高く、中でも最も高いのドイツ（34.0歳）で、イギリス（33.2歳）が続く。アジアでは、台湾が33歳で最も高い。一方で、男性の初婚年齢が最も低いのはインド（26.1歳）、次いでUAE（26.8歳）、中国（27.1歳）、フィリピン（27.1歳）、インドネシア（27.1歳）と続く。 女性においても、欧米各国の初婚年齢がほかより高く、ドイツとイギリスが31.2歳で最も高い。アジアでは韓国の初婚年齢が30.2歳で最も高く、台湾（30.0歳）、香港（29.7歳）と続く。一方で、女性の初婚年齢が最も低いのはインド（21.3歳）、次いで、インドネシア（21.8歳）、タイ（22.5歳）、ベトナム（22.8歳）と続く。
