Population ratio by ethnic groups_Indonesia

It is a multi-ethnic country with a large proportion of Javanese and Sundanese peoples of Malay descent, known as Pribumi, but also made up of many other peoples (about 300). Although people of Chinese decent make up only 1.2% of the total population, they are said to play an important role in the economy, with many of Indonesia's conglomerate owners being of Chinese descent.
