[Vietnam] Introducing IT into the enterprise – appoint a young digital talent to play as the promoter

IT investments by companies can be broadly distinguished into two types. The first is in the area of human resource/payroll management, production/distribution management, etc., where a relatively large number of routine tasks are performed to save labor and automate some of the tasks that employees have been responsible for. Here, we refer to it as "back-end IT.

The other is called "front-end IT," which creates new business and brings added value to the company. The target is non-routine operations such as planning, development, and provision of services and products. For example, services provided via the Internet are a typical example.

In the field of "back-end IT," most Japanese companies in Vietnam are in the manufacturing industry, which has not made progress in introducing IT systems due to cost and human resources. However, if the goal is to save labor and automate the process, there are ways to solve the problem by using internal and external IT personnel (for example, it is possible to reduce several hours of work to a few minutes by using Excel macros and BI tools). Depending on the form, size, and issues of the company, it is important to use both system implementation and human resource utilization.

In the area of "front-end IT," the use of IT in the marketing domain is rapidly advancing to create new business models. It is recommended to think about problem solving here as well. In order to solve issues, it is essential to organize issues from the essence, and it is desirable to organize issues not only from the system perspective but also from the human perspective.

After the introduction of IT, it is important to have a staff member who can promote it within the company in order for it to take root. The key is to have a facilitator who understands the purpose and benefits of the introduction, and who can communicate closely with the internal staff of the actual users to understand the user perspective.

The Vietnamese government is aiming to become an "IT nation," and the image of "technology-savvy Vietnamese" is emerging around the world. It is hoped that the use of such young and talented digital human resources as promoters will accelerate the shift to IT.
