images

The popular app Qlue is an app that allows users to collect and share information about issues in their area of residence, such as flood and traffic congestion information, illegal dumping of garbage and traffic violations, using AI and Iot technology through their smartphones. Currently, more than 750,000 people are registered in more than 20 areas. Users can use photos to create reports and also share their ratings of government responses. Chatting between users and with local governments is also possible within the app; more than 110,000 reports were generated in 2019, 8% more than the previous year. This has resulted in a 50% reduction in government operational costs.
Qlue was launched in 2014 by CEO Rama in collaboration with the government for smart cities (the operator is PT.QlueperformaIndonesia); Rama is a market leader in developing systems to support smart cities and is currently Clients are 55% government and 45% private sector agencies. The company won the 2019 ASEANRiceBowlStartupAwards for Best Iot Startup Company.

The reason for the temporary decline in registrations and then an increase in registrations is

Qlue was set up as a means of listening to the public, but when Jakarta's governor was replaced, the number of users decreased. The number of users decreased in proportion to the trust in the governor, but after citizens' complaints were found to be accepted through Qlue from around 2018, the number of users gradually increased again. In addition, the introduction of new systems such as Iot's automatic signaling system on CCTV, sensor systems, and computerized voice to prevent illegal parking have also contributed to the increase in users. The flood damage that occurred at the beginning of 2020 was not only in Jakarta, but also in Indonesia. Although the damage was severe in various areas, a lot of information was received and mapped on Qlue, which also allowed us to share hazard information and spread awareness among users.
