Description
Intage has teamed up with Kantar Worldpanel to compile a list of the world's most consumer-chosen brands, based on consumer purchase data.
Summary
In this Brand Foot Print report, we use a unique metric: the Consumer Reach Point (CRP). This measure combines population, penetration, and consumer choice. From there, we can rank the most successful brands across markets. From the outbreak of COVID-19 to digitalisation of shopper habits, there has been a lot of change in the FMCG industry landscape. Despite this, the biggest brands have remained resilient. For Y2021, the most chosen global brand was Coca-Cola, which was also ranked as global top1 last year. In this special tenth edition, we have analysed ten years of shopper behaviour to identify the biggest changes to help brands secure their future in our changing world. The Global FMCG Indusustry grew +33% in the last decade. And the number of households globally increased 180 million, a 17% over the decade. This means that a brand needs 1.8 million extra shoppers than 10 years ago for 1% penetration globally today. Households are spending extra USD 130 on brand per year due to inflation and premiumisatio vs 10 years ago. And number of brands chosen by shoppers is consistent across the last decade. Across the decade 88% of grown brands grew their penetration. Increasing penetration is key for brand growth.
