Douyin (Chinese version of Tiktok), which is rapidly expanding its share of the Chinese EC market, is a new EC platform featuring short movies and live commerce. We conducted a survey on its trends and those of traditional EC platforms (Alibaba and Jindong).

Summary
Many of Alibaba's top flagship stores are also located in Douyin, which shows the importance of Dowin in its platform strategy.
Douyin is characterized by a high share of distribution value for unknown brands and high sales value in the apparel category.
The pyramid structure of influencers is also very different from that of Alibaba, with a certain amount of sales from "Waste" and "Bottom" KOLs (whose followers are not as large as the Top KOLs).
