Summary
After COVID-19 outbreak in January 2020, there was a significant drop in the personal care purchase in China. Makeup suffered the most, while Hand & body wash accelerated due to the increasing needs for cleansing and disinfection. From early March to June, personal care market gradually recovered. Makeup closed the gap with last year, Hair care and Skincare showed positive growth and Hand & body wash continued showing rapid growth. Another fact is that online purchase gained 25% growth, while offline was still in decline by June.
