In Europe, the U.S., Japan, and South Korea, the percentage of elderly living alone or as a couple only is higher than in other countries.
In Southeast Asia and India, the percentage of the elderly living in extended families (extended family) is more than 50% in both countries, which is higher than in the United States.

欧米と日本、韓国では、一人暮らしの高齢者や夫婦のみの高齢者の割合がほかより高い。 東南アジアやインドでは、拡大家族(Extended family)で暮らす高齢者の割合がいずれも5割以上で、アメリカと比較すると高いことが特徴的。
