<Data Joke> [Japan] Lost Japanese to get English
When I went to Australia to study English and to get my masters, I expected that I'll be the person who use both Japanese and English in higher level. Actually I lost my Japanese skill a bit in return to learn English. In the end, I became a person who can not speak any language very well (sad).
I didn't study English at all when I was in Japan and I'm wondering how long Japanese normally study English.

IIBC (2019) shows that 40% of people study English regularly...? Ummm it sounds much higher than I recognize from my friends. Having a look at the respondents of the survey, it is from subscribers of Nikkei business online which is one of the famous paid media in Japan. That explains...
That research also shows that there is no big difference in study time between those TOEIC score below 600 and score between 600-800. On the other hand, to go more than score 800 which is around top 10% of applicants, people study almost double of others which is around 1 hour everyday. One hour everyday,,, I don't think I can make it... Nice to be in Singapore although my Japanese skill kept declining.
