Among Singaporeans, cherry-blossom viewing tour is getting popular and "SAKURA (cherry-blossom)" related products such as foods or goods have recently become a common sight.

In the spring of 2019, "Hanami Tour" to see the cherry blossoms in Japan became popular among Singaporeans. This interest has led to the release of a number of "cherry blossom"-related foods and goods. BreadTalk, a local bakery chain, is selling "Sakura Cottony Cake" with cherry blossom butter cream for 1.90 SGD (about 155 yen). Other cherry blossom cakes and sweets including "Fuwa Fuwa Sakura", a cherry blossom-colored sponge cake priced at 2.80 SGD (about 230 yen), and "Sakura Snow Cheese", a cake filled with cherry blossom and peach cream and topped with cherry blossoms, priced at 18.80 SGD (about 1,540 yen) were available until May 12.
"Hai! Cheese", a combination of mascarpone cheese mousse and cherry blossom-flavored Hokkaido milk cheesecake, was available until May 5 and it was selling really well.

Not only can you enjoy cherry blossoms in Japan, but also enjoy the feeling of spring with SAKURA-related products.

When Singaporeans are asked "In which season would you like to visit Japan?", the most common answer is "From late March to April". The reason is "that's because it is the season of SAKURA (cherry blossoms).
Although there are many countries that have cherry blossoms, such as Europe, the U.S. and China, it seems that people value and have a kind of longing for the Japanese cherry blossoms, including the history, customs and ways of enjoying the blossoms. They are also highly interested in "Hanami," a unique Japanese culture.
However, it is difficult to take a long vacation to Japan at this time of year when it is not a school holiday, and even if you can, many people return home without being able to appreciate the cherry blossoms due to the weather. For this reason, products and events that allow people to enjoy the cherry blossoms in a casual way, such as food products, miscellaneous goods, and festivals, are gaining popularity.
